1. Setting Up Your Google Account
You must have a Google account to create a Google Business Profile (GBP ). You can create a new account that you might want to have for business purposes, or you can use an already existing account. Go to the account creation page to start creating your account. Once you have made the account, stay logged in and move to the next phase.
2. Create you Google Business Profile ( GBP ) + verification
Start by checking if your business already has a profile.
If YES, your business listing could have been created without your permission. Just Google your business name if it pops up, great! Click “Own this business?” to claim it and follow the process of claiming the listing.
If not, no sweat – you’re starting fresh. Follow the steps and fill in all the necessary fields.
Once your profile is set up, verification is essential. Verified businesses enjoy full visibility across Google Search and Maps.
Having issues with the verification process? Access the dedicated page to troubleshoot.
3. Fill in and optimise your GBP
Now that your profile is active, it’s time to fill in every detail that makes your business shine:
- Business name, category, and description
- Opening hours (including holiday hours)
- Website and phone number
- Services or menu items
- Photos of your business, team, or products
An optimised profile doesn’t just look professional—it helps you rank higher in local SEO and makes your business more attractive to potential customers.
